Upgrade Forum Notifications / Email Integration
Elyssa Haynes
We love that members can engage with the forum via email, but would like to see the following upgrade:
- Allow members to receive a digest / summary of forum activities - maybe on a weekly basis - to avoid inbox overload.
- Allow members to set up email notifications for forum posts based on specific categories. So, they can sign up to only get notifications if it is in the "pitch meeting" category, for example.

This is at the top of my priority list. Especially as I go to launch a new community, I know the overwhelm that students feel when they are getting an email every time there is a comment or post. So often the choice they are left with is unsubscribing from everything. Which makes it very difficult to get them to reengage in the community. Soon this leads to canceling their membership.
During peak times, it gets to the point where I don't want to respond to too many people at once, because I know that it is sending out a notification email every single time I comment. This ultimately limits the support that I can give to my students.
The option for daily and weekly digests would solve this issue. Thanks.

Also having the option to not send an email for every scheduled forum post

This would be awesome for my community.

Would love to have digests to prevent email overload! Here's a screenshot of how Skool has their digest settings:

This is also somewhat related to another feature request on notifications: https://simplero.canny.io/feature-requests/p/notifications-choose-between-email-or-notification-widget

Love this idea! Would so much like the option to receive digest emails with links to active forum threads and comment counts.

Tue Olesen thank you! I appreciate the support. I think it would also be very similar to the “new feedback this week” digest emails we get (I got one this morning,” so hopefully on the simpler side for implementation.
