I don't understand why Simplero doesn't create invoices like the other platforms do. Kajabi, Teachable, etc.

Simplero should issue invoices, not just receipts.
The platform only needs to change the word "receipt" to "invoice." And add the company's data, as well as the client's data.
If Simplero doesn't make invoices, we have to integrate with other programs that make invoices. Or change everything to platforms that do generate invoices.
I'm attaching invoices from other platforms.

Hi Calvin Correli!
First and foremost thank you for assisting with this! An invoice is similar to a quote you receive BEFORE payment of a service. It allows the customer to review the itemized services/products before purchasing.
They're also used for B2B transactions, and I would use them to create customized packaged offers of my services. For instance, a business wanted to hire me to present at an event and purchase 15 of my digital products as a giveaway to their employees. Their invoice would show the presentation and product breakdown and give them the link to pay for it. Verses me creating a product link for a presentation and telling them to purchase my digital product 15 times, or creating their own product link to say "XYZ business package" but not have details of whats included on their receipt.
It essentially helps accounting for everyone lol I hope that makes sense!

Calvin Correli
Wealthy Employees I get that part, but I don't think that's what this feature request is about.
In Simplero, we generally charge your card directly.

Wealthy Employees
Calvin Correli ok are you thinking they mean having invoices from Simplero for their Simplero services? Like Simplero invoicing me 708$ for the annual plan?
Because clearly that's not what I'm talking about lol and if they are referring to something other than what I commented than I'll just remove my comments to cause less confusion

Calvin Correli
Wealthy Employees No, that's not what I think.

Calvin Correli I think it IS what this feature request is about. The invoice is something that is generated BEFORE the purchase. Something you can send to a client and then they can make the purchase. I've had several clients ask about how to generate invoices in Simplero.. Sort of like a Proposal, but without all the fancy add-ons. Just including the list of inclusions and the price (sometimes itemized). Service based business often use invoices and as mentioned above - B2B business. Many businesses (especially the bigger ones) REQUIRE a dated, itemized invoice in order to make payment as part of their paper trail.

Calvin Correli
Valerie Tate This is the problem with ill-worded feature requests. Different people think it means different things.
Elsa literally wrote:
> "The platform only needs to change the word "receipt" to "invoice."
That makes me think she's not talking about changing how we charge, but only changing the word.
If you or others on this request would like to be able to invoice separately from payment, open a new feature request that makes that clear, pls.

Calvin Correli Exactly. In Spain it is mandatory to give an invoice (not a receipt) to the customer when they buy a product. The invoice must contain the invoice number, the customer's details and the company's details.
If the buyer is a self-employed person, or another company, they need the invoice to deduct taxes.
A "receipt" before the purchase, in Spain, is an estimate, not an invoice.

I try to explain what I am missing as a accountant and former tax agent in Sweden in the invoice/receipt for the bookkeeping in this video: https://www.loom.com/share/5a08ff1cc23f4a19a2e885fb9bdf2295?sid=1d8dfd61-c2e7-4a3f-93d7-1d2acbaab1e4

Hi! I think the difference is in how you pay in different countries. In US many seem to pay with credit Cards. I work with companies and municipalities. They want an invoice as shown by the examples provided by Elsa. In the invoice you have the information needed to pay for the course. It can be sent directly in to the clients payment system by email. The client therefore gets all info needed for their bookkeeping and I get all the info for bookkeeping. Now I need to make the invoice separately in my system so there is like 5-10 minutes of extra work needed for every purchase. Plus a LOT of confusion as the clients receives a receipt if I want to give them access to the course before payment is made through the invoice. What shows be included is dependent on swedish legislation.

Calvin Correli Calvin Correli All course platforms send you an invoice. I give examples of Hotmart, Thrive, Tachable, Mighty, etc.

Calvin Correli Calvin Correli I don't know about other countries, but in Spain it is mandatory to have all the invoices for the products you sell. As a self-employed person, when it comes to paying taxes, you have to present all the invoices for what you have sold, and all the invoices for the expenses.
This means that if Simplero does not generate the invoices, we have to generate them.
Also, if a client is self-employed, and wants to include one of our products as an expense in their accounting, they also need the invoice. So if Simplero does not send it to them, they will ask for it and we will have to make an invoice.
Therefore, the "problem" is for me. As a company or self-employed person, I have to have all the invoices for what I have sold. And when clients ask me for them, I am obliged to give them the invoice.
Not all clients will need the invoice, but many will. And it is not feasible to make them one by one.
I am attaching an article from the Treasury, although it is in Spanish (https://sede.agenciatributaria.gob.es/Sede/iva/facturacion-registro/facturacion-iva/obligacion-facturar.html).
An invoice must contain the invoice number, the date of purchase, the company details (name, address and tax number), the buyer's details, the product or service and the price (with taxes).
