Embed PDF on web page
Giles P Croft
Please can we have the option to embed a PDF on a standard web page, just like we can in Courses pages?
At the moment, if you insert a PDF it just becomes a link to the media file, to download.
I want people to be able to see and read a PDF there on a webpage. Just like in Courses.
Thanks!

Hey Giles P Croft
I was able to find a workaround with Summer by hosting the PDF files in Google Drive, creating a public link to them, and using the 'embed item' option– which generates some iframe code.
The downside to this is having to manage the files within Google Drive or another cloud-based file management system. Another drawback is if the PDF is fillable, the Google preview doesn't allow input into the pdf.
Ideally, Simplero would create a link that displays the file just as it does when you click on the media file in the media library.
This way, you can keep everything in one place vs. paying for a separate file hosting solution– just for this use case.
Hope this helps!

Joe Scoppino: Ooh! Thank you. Any idea whether there's an equivalent in Dropbox?

Giles P Croft: I feels like there’s gotta be if they expect to compete with Google Drive.
