Hello Simplero Team,
I’m experiencing significant confusion among my paid subscribers because the legal footer’s “Unsubscribe” link (in Danish, “afmeld”) makes them think they’re canceling their paid product subscription rather than unsubscribing from emails. After clicking the link, they see a pop-up confirming “You have been unsubscribed” (“Du er blevet afmeldt”) and assume they’ve canceled their product subscription. Unfortunately, their paid subscription renews anyway, causing frustration when they discover this too late.
Proposed Solution:
Allow customization of the legal footer text so it clearly states “Unsubscribe from emails” (or similar phrasing).
Make it clear that clicking this link does not cancel a paid subscription.
Allow additional explanatory text, such as:
“Unsubscribing from emails does not cancel your purchase. To cancel your subscription, please manage it here.”
I currently include a disclaimer in my own email footer, but many customers still click the legal footer’s generic “Unsubscribe” link. Being able to clarify this distinction in the legal footer itself would reduce confusion and improve the user experience.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Jannik Holgersen
